Some of which may be important:
CLUSTER HEADACHES
Not a form of migraine * Attack in a cyclical manner (like every night at 2 am)* Also called "suicide headaches" although Pye may re-address that nickname.* Supposedly attack men between the ages of 20 thru 40 -
Excuse me...Pye is decidedly female and approaching 57...

whatever AMA, in Pye's opinion, you don't get too much right in the first place. Maybe that's because you are too keen on managing illness for profit rather than curing it for kindness??
It's not that I told my physician roughly 8 months ago that I suspected this was the problem...or that the other physician involved also refused to hear me and put me through months of torture trying this and that drug for his theory of migraine; or that I had to insist upon a referral to a pricey NYC doctor who's consultation cost the NY state tax payers $600.00 and me $200.00 to travel to the city for the day; or that my daughter and my sister gave up an entire day of their own to go with me; or the absurdity that I had to hire a fancy doctor to tell me what I already knew so that he could tell my doctor what I already knew because he wouldn't listen to me in the first place...
I've been thinking about this a lot...our medical system...what Mike Gravel said about it; the fact that we are not even in the top ten in the world! - which I think is frightening personally, but the important point here is, and I ask anyone who is reading this to please think about this seriously...
In a free market medical system, meaning profit-earning, WHO IS MAKING MONEY OFF YOUR DISEASE? AND WHAT MOTIVATION IS THERE TO CURE IT? Something is rotten to the extreme here folks...very very foul.
People are suffering and people are dying...and there are people getting rich off of it. It's a system...it's so huge and it's so slick that no one even realizes what's going on. But the simple truth is- it's wrong. When a so-called "free market" hurts someone, how can this be free? If a "free" market enslaves another human being...that is NOT free. I know there are many people who disagree with me; but I stand by this belief...a society that is not fair to all, is not a free society.
What is your perception of New York City? I had not been to the city in many years. I think I may have been pregnant with Alyssa the last time I was there and she's 26 now...so, you get the idea.
First of all, I think I might better throw away my television. I did not feel like I was in a city, but like I was on a set. As I passed diners on corners I expected to see Jerry Seinfeld and Kramer drinking coffee, or Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson jump out of a patrol car and run up the stairs of a brownstone. Not only that, but the faces I did see I'm certain were on this episode or that of Friends, or CSI:NY. Yup...time to disconnect the cable.
I gotta tell ya this though - the people of NYC are a special breed. If you took life in any other place and were able to somehow concentrate it - put like one square mile of life into one little square inch and then stack them all together...you'd have NYC. That's what it is, concentrated life - total chaos and madness going fast, faster fastest, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, and people LIVE in the midst of it! Thrive in the midst of it! I would look around, during the one or two moments of gathered thought I was able to wrestle together; and I would see these faces of calm in the middle of everything going everywhere at the same time...just patiently waiting for the light to change, or the lunch order to be ready - amazing. NYC Dwellers - my hat is off to you! You live life in a way that is unique, creative and with a little bit of sass! But you are never too busy to smile or help a stranger. Nice going - nice city.
Well..we got some nice going on here today..so off I go, back to the porch for some more re planting.
Happy June!
